Most tourist to the Dominican Republic start their sight seeing with Santo Domingo's Zona Colonial, which is famous for its amazing architecture, vibrant music culture and lots of fast-step merengue based dances even at public squares where guitar toting musicians add to the sales of local and foreign ware retailed at the storefronts and taxi stands in the capital city.

Caberete is the Dominican Republic’s hippest beach town and replete with many high-end resorts and hotel structures but there are many other smaller properties here as well that cater to those on a budget.
Windsurfing and whale watching are two of the hottest holiday activities in the Dominican Republic so don’t pass out on either of these if you are a water baby (or if you simply want to do something exotic) when visiting the Peninsula de Samana.
If you are a physically fit person, you can also find out the best hiking trails and river rafting trails and tours and take off on one or both of these outdoor sporting activities; the local tourism board and many private travel agencies too, can give you updated info, maps and more details regarding mountain trails and national park visits besides rafting trips you can make when in the Dominican Republic.
